Sophie Schumann qualifies for the nationals

Shortly before going to Japan,  Sophie “Picasso” Schumann had a fight in Germany. She went to Nürnberg, in the Northern part of Bavaria, for regional qualifications to the national amateur championships.

Sophie had no problem earning her spot. She had two fights in two days, demolishing both opponents with power punching and aggressiveness.

The second opponent was Michaela Hitzfeld. The fight was scheduled for four rounds. It was one-sided enough that the ref gave a warning to Michaela’s corner between rounds 2 and 3, telling them that he would stop the fight if she were not to defend herself better.

As soon as she heard the bell at the beginning of Round 3, Sophie pounced on Michaela. Less than 30 seconds in, she landed the solid right cross pictured above, forcing the ref to step in and stop the fight.

With this win, Sophie is in the running for a German championship in the amateur ranks. Her record stands at 27 wins, 2 losses, no draw. Most of her wins were stoppages.
