Sophie Schumann signs a long-term contract

DE Box-Promotion are proud to announce the signature of a long-term contract with Sophie Schumann, who will become a professional boxer this year.

The two parties have agreed to a five-fight deal with an option to extend it with five more bouts. The financial terms will not be disclosed.

Sophie notched 36 wins as an amateur boxer, and suffered only three losses. She earned the German title in the Lightweight division in 2018.

“We are confident that Sophie will be a highly successful professional fighter, said Heidi Becker, CEO at DE Box-Promotion. With this contract, we put our money where our mouth is. We will invest time, energy and money to make it happen.”

“Yeah sure, I lost my final amateur bout at the London Internationals, commented Schumann. That won’t stop me because I’ve learned from the defeat. I’ll come back better, smarter, stronger.”

Women’s boxing in Germany is making strides, argues Heidi Becker. “Our goal is to make this sport prosperous again and talents such as Sophie Schumann will make it flourish.”
