Fight for minds in Québec City

Ring Kings and their partners announce that Heather Barker will headline a fight night at the Vidéotron Centre in Québec City in November, facing Maya Cerci for 10 rounds of boxing in the Lightweight division.

Half the profits from the event will go to the Synapses foundation for brain trauma and mental health. Ring Kings will also collect, match and hand over 100% of voluntary donations by boxing fans.

Barker is a former Canadian Featherweight champion whose record stands at 8 wins (4 KO) and one loss. She is marching on after two consecutive wins since moving to the Lightweight division. Her latest win took place in London, when she won against Veronica Lillegard.

“I’m excited at the idea of heading to Québec City for a fight, says Barker. I know that the fans are rabid over there and we will give them a great show. This card will also help send proceeds to a cause that is very dear to me.”

Cerci’s record stands at 13-1, including 5 knockouts. She has bounced back with three straight wins after losing the German Lightweight championship to Akane Watanabe in May 2019.

“I hear it’s getting cold in Canada at this time of the year, but that won’t be a problem since we’ll bring the heat to the arena, says Cerci. Heather’s a solid fighter and I can’t wait to rub shoulders with her.”

“I want to thank Ring Kings, Heather and Maya for agreeing to stage this fight card in partnership with us, says Veronica Lillegard, president of the Synapses foundation. The revenue we will collect will provide medical and social help to some of the most vulnerable members of society.”

Tickets will range from $50 to $100 online and at the door.
