Alesia Schumann’s 8th professional fight is coming in October as a part of a two-fight deal in Tokyo.
We tune in to watch Alesia Schumann’s rematch with Akane Watanabe, one of the most anticipated boxing matches this year in Japan.
Esther: “The most anticipated women’s boxing match of the year in Japan is second away from starting!”
Round 2 is underway and the crowd cheers. Our fighters square off in the middle of the ring, jabbing to find their range.
The bell rings and Round 3 starts. Alesia and Akane are on high alert and ready to fight once more.
There is no feeling each other out at the beginning of Round 4. Akane chases Alesia immediately to force her to box under increased pressure.
Alesia knows that Akane will come out throwing bombs. She stands behind her jab in the early going in Round 5, only hitting gloves but keeping the opponent away.
With fresh instructions in mind, our boxers are ready to be hostile again in Round 6.
It’s the first time that both fighters make it this far. Both have lost some of their speed, but they keep moving well and their first jabs of the round are still quick.
Akane fears that the fight is slipping away, so she starts Round 8 with much more energy to try and turn it around.
